About Us
About Suerae Stein, Owner and Designer: After learning several unique and compelling graphic design techniques, I began transforming my original digital photography into eye-catching impressionist works of art. I combine over 15 years of graphic design experience with my love of digital photography and my passion for art and nature. Subjects include local landmarks, animals, architecture, landscapes and people, as well as hidden gems from all over the world, appealing equally to men and women of all ages. I started printing all my own products on the highest quality specialty canvas in various sizes, and on lovely textured notecards. I then learned about sublimation, which is the heat transfer process that allows us to print on unique specialty items, such as porcelain ornaments, ceramic coasters and trivets, necklaces, sun catchers, counter savers, baskets, and keyholders. I love what we do and feel fortunate to gain strength and inspiration from these everyday images. Sharing our designs with others helps to fuel that inspiration and creates a satisfaction like no other. I feel our purpose in our work is to notice and appreciate beauty where it may not be obvious at first glance. We are in business to inspire others to view the world differently and to seek out the hidden beauty in their lives.
About Wayne Wallace, Photojournalist: See his work on the Lighthouse page. Photography has been a passion for me since leafing through the pages of LIFE Magazine in my junior high school library. I pursued this passion through high school and college, eventually graduating from the University of Florida with a Journalism degree, specializing in photojournalism. I worked for several years as a photojournalist in Texas before returning to Florida to work full-time as a freelance photojournalist. Some of the events I have photographed include the Mariel Boat Lift for United Press International, the discovery of the Nuestra Senora de Atocha for the Miami Herald and the Walter Mondale presidential campaign for the Associated Press. Other credits include National Geographic Publications, The New York Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, U.S. News and World Report and Business Week. My interest in lighthouses was honed early on. I grew up in the Florida Keys and spent many lazy days at my grandmother’s store, “The Ditty Box”, which was literally in the shadow of the Key West lighthouse. Later, as I developed an interest in genealogy, I discovered that my 2nd great-grandfather had been a lighthouse keeper at the Carysfort Reef lighthouse off Key Largo and that the North Carolina State Congress had given my 6th great-grandfather the contract to build the Ocracoke lighthouse on the Outer Banks in the late 1700s. I believe the graphic design techniques employed by Suerae will bring an exciting dimension to my images and I am looking forward to working with her.
About Ralph Morang, Photographer: Many of the images that you see on the New Hampshire and Maine pages originated with Ralph's amazing photography. He was kind enough to give us permission to add our special painterly effect and the results are stunning! Ralph is a commercial and stock photographer based in Portsmouth, NH. A former photojournalist, he has published photographs in books, calendars, web sites and magazines throughout New England. He has been a photography columnist, historical society officer, and theater director. His photographs can be seen at www.NewEnglandPhoto.com. |
