Romantic Red

As we all know, Valentine’s Day is just about here and many last-minute-men are probably panicking right now about how they haven’t planned anything special for their loved one yet. I know there are many people who believe this is just another man-made holiday to increase retail sales and it galls them.

Some think it should be a special time just for the kids to exchange valentine’s in their class and that it should end there. I remember being in grade school, with a decorated paper bag taped to the back of my chair, and everyone going from chair to chair with their home made cards. I was always so excited to go home to see who wanted me to be their valentine. I guess it never occurred to me that I got the same valentines as everyone else in my class.

Whatever your thoughts about Valentine’s Day, there is no doubt that the color red is a significant symbol of the romance of this day. So I cased the internet and found some striking red images that I thought to be romantic and beautiful. I hope you enjoy them…

LOVE, love the post. Always enjoy your incredible selections. I usually have a favorite or two but this time I love them all! VD day is a hyped up holiday. Still, love should be celebrated every chance we get. If you’re lucky, that would be every single day. Have a happy, Suerae!

May you and your husband enjoy a mellifluous day- especially now that your son and his girlfriend are on their way to recovery!. (No, I didn’t forget you still have a daughter in high school…)

  5. What a wonderful idea, to post all the red pictures. My husband and I have low key Valentine’s Days; we don’t really give presents. The sweetest one he ever gave me was the second year of our relationship, when he was in college and working long hours to pay the tuition, and he had to borrow money from his next door neighbor to buy me a box of candy and a card. (I didn’t know about the borrowing part for several years). Tomorrow, he will cook me a supper, too. What could be nicer?

  8. I did a red post today also of my images from Burma. I love the color and find it energizing. I especially enjoyed the Paris photo with the pop of red at the end.
