It’s nail-biting time! I have decided to go for my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University New England and this is the week in which I register for my first classes. Things have certainly changed since I (manually) signed up for college classes all those years ago. Everything now is done through an online portal. “Portal” even sounds futuristic… like time travel.
I’m sure this is the first of many changes that I will find over the next three years in graduate school. It’s funny how going back to school, which feels like going back in time for me, is actually forcing me into the present day of technology, which feels like I’m plunging into the future. My kids are more familiar with the technology that I will be using than I am. When I decided to take this path, it never occurred to me that one of the challenges would be learning the administrative systems needed just to take the classes!
I guess that’s the price I pay for waiting so long to change my career path. I am getting excited and nervous as the first day approaches. I only hope that my brain is not too addled to absorb all the new information that will be heading its way!
Thank you for joining me on this new journey!
